MITTELMEERLAND:
Territorial Explorations on the Mediterranean
Over the past 4 years, the AA Visiting School MITTELMEERLAND investigated the future of the Mediterranean as a ‘territory’; one that is based on climatic and economic conditions, and subject to specific social, political and spatial dynamics. They travelled to 6 different Mediterranean cities: Dubrovnik, Tangier, Beirut, Algiers, Alexandria and finally Izmir. Medine will present the projects and reflect on the findings and results. What are similarities and differences between these cities? Does the Mediterranean have the potential to be established as one territory despite political conflicts? How can we imagine and visualize our findings about the Mediterranean?
