Her humility in the face of insults quiets her accusers anger. She is considered a heretic, tried and burned alive at the stake amidst a crowd unleashed. A silent cinema masterpiece in which Carl Theodor employs his actor’s facial expressions in a deeply affective manner that takes us on a voyage into his characters’ souls despite the silent tape.
