“آخر أيام ياسر عرفات”
		شيرين سلامة، 77 دقيقة، بالعربية مع ترجمة للانكليزية، وثائقي، استراليا، 2006.
		يسرد الفيلم الفصل الأخير في حياة القائد ياسر عرفات حيث توثق مخرجة الفيلم، شيرين سلامة، دقائق حياته وهو محاصر من خلال محاولتها الحصول على مقابلة خاصة مع رئيس منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية. في أيلول عام 2003، تبدأ المخرجة بالضغط على مساعدي عرفات لتحظى بمقابلة خاصة معه. في تشرين الأول من عام 2004، أي قبل شهر واحد فقط من موته الغامض في باريس، يوافق عرفات على المقابلة التي تغدو آخر مقابلة له. عرض الفيلم في أكثر من عشرين مهرجاناً سينمائياً دولياً ورشح لجائزة “غولدن غيت” في مهرجان سان فرانسيسكو السينمائي الدولي.
		“The Last Days of Yasser Arafat”

		The film documents the final chapter in the saga of Yasser Arafat in intimate detail, as filmmaker Sherine Salama, embarks on a compelling quest to land an exclusive interview with the controversial Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. The film-maker in September of 2003 began to lobby officials and ingratiate herself with Arafat’s handlers and aides in an effort to establish a formal dialogue with the Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient. The film gives a fascinating look at the day-to-day existence in the ageing leader’s heavily-fortified compound. In October of 2004, just one month before his mystery-shrouded death in Paris, Arafat agreed to grant Salama what would eventually become his final interview. The film was screened at over twenty international film festivals and was nominated for the prestigious Golden Gate awards at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
شيرين سلامة
ولدت شيرين سلامة من أب مصري وأم فلسطينية في القاهرة، وانتقلت في الثالثة من عمرها إلى استراليا مع عائلتها. في السنوات الإثنتي عشر الماضية، عملت سلامة في الشرق الأوسط حيث كانت صحافية في القاهرة (1989- 1991). وعملت أيضا في تلفزيون ABC(1993- 1995) حيث حصلت على جائزة الأمم المتحدة لإعلام السلام لتقرير حول اغتصاب النساء في البوسنة. أخرجت شيرين سلامة فيلمين أخيرين: “لا شتاء في أستراليا” عام 1999 الحائز على عدة جوائز والذي يوثق قصة عائلة من بلغراد لجأت إلى ميلبورن، و “عرس في رام الله” عام 2002 الذي نال أكثر من 10 جوائز عالمية.
Sherine Salama
Sherine was born in Cairo to an Egyptian father and a Palestinian mother. She moved to Australia with her family when she was three. Over the past 12 years she has travelled and worked throughout the Middle East. From 1989 till 1991 she was based in Cairo, where she worked as a freelance journalist. She also worked as a news and current affairs reporter for ABC-TV from 1993 till 1995. She received the United Nations Media Peace Prize for a report detailing the rape experiences of Bosnian women. Sherine Salama directed two other feature films “Australia Has No Winter” in 1999, an award-winning documentary which followed a refugee family from Belgrade to Melbourne and chronicled their settlement experience; and “Wedding in Ramallah”, in 2002 which won more than ten major awards.
