Film Screenings, Flamenco Dancing, and a Poetry Talk on Love

The 25th European Film will conclude with two screenings this Sunday: Stopped on Track (Halt auf freier Strecke) is German film a by Andreas Dresen (7pm) and the Swedish, award winning Everlasting Moments (Maria Larssons eviga ögonblick) by Jan Troell (9pm).

The Flamenco Dancer Fuensanta “La Moneta” will perform at Al Hussein Cultural Center (Ras Al Ein ) on Monday (7.30 pm), in an open event where she will represent “Extremo Jondo” accompanied by the sound of Luis Mariano, the beat of Miguel “El Cheyenne”, and the deep melismata of Miguel Lavis. On Tuesday, the Cervantes Institute in Amman, devoting space to Poetry, will host a meeting with writers Luis Alberto de Cuenca and Alicia Marino under the title “Love in the Time of the Novel”, which will address love as a literary theme (6:30 pm). Luis Alberto de Cuenca’s book The Silver Box received the Spanish Fiction Critics Award in 1985- by the Spanish Association of Literary Critics, and has been described as crucial for the evolution of contemporary poetry. Alicia Marino holds a PhD in French Studies and a degree in Law, she is a professor at the National Open University, and is known for her research on fantasy and comparative literature between European and Japanese myths. In the literary scene has published the anthology of haikus, Air Time.
