On July 2nd, the day after 7iber.com was blocked by Jordan’s Press and Publications Department, Fayez Shawabkeh, the department’s director, justified the move to AFP by saying that “7iber is registered at the trade and industry ministry as a news website and posts news and political analyses about Jordan, which means that the law applies to it”.
This statement is inaccurate, as anyone who searches for 7iber’s name in the Jordan’s Company Regitrar records can easily learn. 7iber is not, and never was, registered as a “news website”, nor a blog for that matter as we believe that blogs and other social media platforms, as well as non-commercial websites should not require official company registration to operate, and because our website does not conduct commercial activities or generate revenue.
Since 2009, 7iber has been registered under the Ministry of Industry and Trade as a media company that conducts trainings and workshops and produces multimedia, under the name “7iber for Training and Technology“. The company pays taxes on all revenue generated through its activities.

في الثاني من تموز/يوليو، بعد أن تم إضافة حبر إلى قائمة المواقع المحجوبة في الأردن من قبل دائرة المطبوعات والنشر، برّر مدير الدائرة فايز الشوابكة قرار حجب حبر في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء الفرنسية (أ ف ب) بالقول أن “موقع حبر مسجل في وزارة الصناعة والتجارة كموقع الكتروني اخباري، ولدى الدخول الى الموقع تجد انه موقع تفاعلي يضم اخبارا سياسية وتحليلات تعنى بالشأن الاردني وبالتالي ينطبق عليه القانون.”
هذا التصريح غير صحيح، وبإمكان أي شخص التحقق من ذلك بسهولة بالبحث عن “حبر” في سجلات مراقب الشركات. موقع حبر ليس مسجلاً في وزارة الصناعة والتجارة كموقع إخباري كما صرح الشوابكة، ولم يكن يوماً كذلك. وهو ليس مسجلاً كمدونة أيضاً، لأننا نؤمن أن المدونات ومنصات التواصل الاجتماعي والمواقع غير التجارية لا ينبغي أن تحتاج تسجيلاً رسمياً كشركة حتى تعمل، ولأن موقعنا لا يقوم بنشاطات تجارية أو يدرّ دخلاً.
منذ ٢٠٠٩ قمنا بتسجيل حبر في وزارة الصناعة والتجارة كشركة إعلامية تقوم بالتدريب على المهارات التكنولوجيا وإنتاج الوسائط المتعددة (ملتيميديا)، تحت اسم “حبر للتدريب والتكنولوجيا”، وهذه الشركة تدفع الضرائب على كل الدخل الذي تدرّه نشاطاتها ومشاريعها المختلفة.
