Update 11: Faith Restored
We began a 48-hour food and clothing drive to help our sisters and brothers in Gaza last Sunday, naively underestimating the generosity of our People. For five hours on Tuesday, we gathered food, clothing, and anything donated in the Cosmo parking lot. Today, five days later, we are happy to announce that the donate items have been sorted, packed, and are en route to Gaza. Two trucks have already made it into Gaza, with more on the way as we speak.
We had over 400 volunteers mobilized over the past few days. In a coming post we’ll attempt to thank everyone.
Our faith in the generosity of the human spirit, the will to accept a task and finish, not to mention the enduring dedication of many, all led to a successful collection campaign. We are thrilled to have been able to participate in the movement.
We want to thank YOU for your work, YOU for your donations, and YOU for your endless support, without which none of this would have been possible.
As our campaign, comes to an end, others rush to fill the need in Gaza. Aramex has been coordinating shipments of donations from the Gulf, Lebanon, and other places as Jordan and Aramex are able to handle the items and deliver them to Gaza.
If you have donations, please send them to any Aramex store. You can drop off first aid kits, medical emergency supplies, chronic illness medication, personal hygiene products, non-perishable foods, new clothes, tents and blankets. Please ensure the validity date is at least 6 months for food and at least 1 year for medicine.

آخر التطورات / 11 : استعادة الإيمان
بدأناحملة لجمع الغذاء والكساء لمدة 48 ساعة, بهدف مساعدة شقيقاتناوأشقائنا في غزة يوم الأحد الماضي. و بكلسذاجة استهنا بكرم شعبنا. فخلال خمسساعات قمنا بجمع ما يقارب الأربعين طن من الكساءو الغذاء أي شيء أخر تم التبرع به في الأرض الفارغة امام كوزمو.
اليوم، بعد خمسة أيام، يسعدنا أن نعلن أن المواد التي جمعناها قد تم فرزها و تعبئتها، و قد تركت المستودع في طريقها إلى غزة. تم وصول شاحنتين بالفعل البارحة إلى القطاع.
خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية حشدنا أكثر من 400 متطوع. سنقوم في مقالة اخرى بمحاولة شكر الجميع.
لقد استعدنا إيماننا في سخاء الروح البشرية من خلال هذه الحملة. فالتفاني الدائم للكثيرين و تصميمهم على قبول أية مهمة و انجازها أدى إلى نجاحالحملة. نحن سعيدون لتمكنا من المشاركة في هذا النحرك.نحن نريد أن نشكركم على تبرعاتكم، عملكم ، و الدعم اللا متناهي الذي قدمتموه فيالأيام القليلة الماضية ، والتي بدونها لم يكن هذا الإنجاز ممكنا.

UPDATE 10: Saturday
Many people have shown up over the past few days to help sort and package, but we still need plenty of volunteers to help finish the job!
The road is still longfor our friends in Gaza, we will gather again tomorrow to finish off what we started. We will meet in front of Cozmo at 9:00 AM. Please meet us there… we will spend our last day of holiday helping those who are in most need for our support.

أكثر من 400 شاب و فتاة ساعدونا في الأيام الأخيرة، و الطريق امام أهالينا في غزة لا تزال طويلة، سنجتمع غدا لإنهاء ما بدأناه. سوف نلتقي أمام كوزمو الساعة التاسعة صباحاز الرجاء كونو معنا لنقضي اخر يوم في الإجازة بمساعدة هؤلاء الذين هم في ـمس الحاجة لنا!

تحديث 9: الجمعة وصلت الشحنة التي بعثناها الى غزة
يشرفنا أن نبشركم أن الطعام و الملابس و البطانيات، التي فرزناها، غلفناها، عبأناها في الصناديق، حملناها ثم أنزلناها قد وصلت الى اخواننا في غزة سالمة قبل عدة ساعات.
مبروك، لقد نجحنا! هذا النجاح لم يكن مقدرا له لولا الجهود الصادقة لمئات الشباب،و لولا الوقت الذي تبرعو به بكل عطاء و محبة. لا نعرف كيف نعبر عن امتناننا لكل واحد منهم. جيعهم اشخاص رائعون و عليهم أن يكونوا فخورين بأنفسهم.

تحديث 8 الجمعة: لا زلنا بحاجة الى متطوعين للفصل و التصنيف اليوم الجمعة الساعة الثالثة امام كوزمو.سينتهي العمل قريبا!
تجمعنا البارحة امام كوزمو على الساعة الحادية عشرة صباحا، رافقنا ما يقارب العشرين شخص. عندما و صلنا الى هناك وجدنا ما لا يقل ع نثلاثين شخص أخرين! البعض منهم كان معنا في الليلة السابقة. حضروا و احضروا معهم أخرين. تقسم الشباب الى عدة مجموعات و بدأوا العمل بلا كل أو تعب. اذا نظرنا الى انفسنا من الأعلى قد يكون منظرنا كسرب من النمل منهمك في العمل!
انهت مجموعة عملية تصنيف الطعام و تعبئته في الصناديق الكرتونية التي تبرعت فيها شركة نقل مشكورة. هذه المجموعة تكونت من الشباب و الفتيات الذين كانو معنا الليلة السبقة. منهم من كان يعبئ و منهم من كان يغلق الصناديقو اخرين كانو مسؤولين عن الكتابة على الصناديق.
و بدأ الأخرين في تصنيف المابس الة جديد مغلف، جديد غير مغلف و مستعمل. العمل في الملابس كان مكئبا، فالناس تبرعوا بكرم و سخاء و الكثير من تلك الملابس لن تنفع. الساعة الرابعة تقريبا, جاء ما يقارب الثلاثين شخص! جيش نسائي راغب على العمل! استلمت الفتيات الملابس. خلال ساعتين ذابت جبال الملابس!
الى مجموعة من المتطوعين حتى ننهيه و نبعثه الى اخواننا في أسرع وقت ممكنشارف العمل على الإنتهاء و لكننا لا زلنا بحاجتكم.علينا أن ننهي ما بدأناه لبعثه الى اخواننا في غزة بأسرع وقت ممكن.
بالمناسبة بالرغم ان العمل كان مجهد، الا ان العمل كان ممتع و مسلي!

UPDATE 7: Thursday
We gathered at 11 today, and headed off to Aramex with 30 or so people in tow. A few hours later, a large group joined us and we totaled about 150 people sorting, packing, and managing all the donations.
We are happy to report that we are almost done! Most of the food items have been packed up and sent off to the Commission to be sent to Gaza. The clothes are being sorted and should be finished on Friday.
UPDATE 6: 2:20AM SPEND YOUR DAY OFF WITH US!
We need more people. We spent a good portion of today sorting and packaging food, and we’re are getting close, but we need YOUR help.
Thursday we will meet at 11:00am in front of Cosmo to make the trip to the warehouse. Please bring your family and friends and anyone that can help.

تحديت 6: اقضي يوم عطلتك معنا في مساعدة أهل غزة
قضينا نهارنا البارحة في فصل المواد الغذائية التي جمعناها، و ترتيبها و تغليفها. أصعب ما في الأمر أن الكثير من المنتوجات الغذائية لن تدخل الحدود مثل المعلبات التي تحتوي على اللحوم. فرز ذلك لم يكن سهلا أذ كان علينا اختيار المعلبات وفصلها.
و لكن الأصعب من ذلك هي القيود التي فرضت علينا بفصل أي منتجات مصنعة أو معبأة في سوريا، ايران و ليبيا و دول أخرى معادية لإسرائيل، لأن اسرائيل لن تسمح لها بالعبور الى الداخل. البحث عن بلد المنشأ و التدقيق في كل علبة كان مؤذيا و مضيعة للوقت! و ذلك لأننا كنا نرى مئات المعلبات التي قد تنقذ حياة الناس في غزة تنحى للجانب، بالرغم انها مثالية ! لم نكن نعرف أنه حتى الإنسانية أصبحت مسيسة.
القيود لا تتوقف على بلد المنشأ و انما تتعدى ذلك الى حد التفاهة، فإسرائيل قررت انه الملابس الجديدة التي لا تزال في تغليفها هي التي ستعبر الحدود. لعل أي شيْ مستعمل سيؤذي احساسها في الموضة !مما يجعلني اتسأل عن الفرق الذي سيحدث على اسرائيل إذا لبس طفل في غزة، دمرت اسرائيل حياته، ملابس جديدة أم ملابس قديمة. و لكن ليشهد العالم على همجية اسرائيل. بالطبع هذا يعني أن معظم الملابس التي لدينا باقية في الأردن. و لكن الخبر الجيد أن معظم البطانيات كانت جديدة. و لقد ملأنا شاحنة و بعثنها الى هناك مع صلواتنا و أدعيتنا لأخواننا
همجية اسرائيل لم تثني المئة شاب و فتاة الذين اختاروا التضحية برأس السنة للسهر معنا في المستودع و العمل على الفرز بطريقة سياسية!! تلك اللانسانية لن توقفنا اليوم.
و لكن نحتاج الى مساعدتكم.
ان كنتم ترغبون فيتقديم المساعدة، الرجاء الحضور الى كوزمو الساعة الحادية عشرة صباحا، احضروا سياراتكم حتى يتسنى للذين لا يقودون بالركوب معكم.و بهذه الطريقة تتعرفون على اناس جدد وتساعدون أهالي غزة.

2:30 بعد الظهر أمام كوزمو
UPDATE 4: Wednesday 2:15 AM
When the bombing started it was difficult to find words that capture the pain and suffering in the Gaza Strip. Tonight, after an expression of extreme generosity, one’s faith in humanity is (at least partially) restored. We, as a human people, might not yet destroy our dignity.
The scene was one that could not have been scripted. A massive out pouring of food, clothing, blankets – people sent trucks of blankets, people who had nothing, gave something, folks went to the grocery store and bought groceries – all in a show of solidarity to Occupied Palestine.
We envisioned a turnout that we could handle. A few truck loads delivered to a friend who lives nearby. What arrived was roughly 25-30 tons of food and clothing. We filled an entire wing of Aramex’s warehouse. Without the logistical support of Aramex – from the CEO all the way down to the truck drivers who refused to go home until everything was loaded – none of this would have been possible.
UPDATE 3:
There have been questions about who will transport and if they have permission to enter Gaza. This is to provide more information.
The donations will transported by the Hashemite Charity Commission, which is the only body (governmental or not) authorized to cross the borders at this time. The commission has their own legacy and have proven themselves time and time again as efficient transporters.
The Commission has permission to transport humanitarian aid to Gaza. Several trucks were delivered earlier today into Gaza from Jordan.
They will even give us a statement stating that the donations were accepted and will be transported to the cause accordingly. We will post this on 7iber for complete transparency, because that’s what we’re about.

UPDATE 2:
Calls of support are pouring in. Business are donating proceeds – Full Cup Coffee Place near 5th circle are donating proceeds and have put out a donation box. A truck load of blankets has just been donated. Aramex has generously agreed to provide trucks and warehouses to collect and store the items.
Blogger Basem Aggad is helping us out as well through his company, Scooter Express. So anyone who can’t make it to either destination can call, sms or email his company and he’ll send you a scooter for a pick up. But please call him as soon as you can to arrange a pick up and please be aware that the dimensions of the scooter, while big, is around 70×70×70 so I’ve been told, so keep that in mind when arranging a pick up.Here’s the scooter pick up information:

Books@Cafe has generously agreed to serve as a drop off point for donated items. Same items will be collected at Books@Cafe throughout the day. Find map here.
This is a clothes and food drive. What we’re looking specifically for are blankets and jackets especially, which are in good condition (nothing torn or old), as well as canned goods (no canned meats). Also, avoid things that leak (oil, etc).
We will be delivering the donated items to the Hashemite Charity Commission, which is the only convoy allowed to cross the border this week.

ستقوم حبر بتنظيم حملة لمساندة سكان غزة. نحن نقوم بجمع المعلبات (غير اللحوم) والاطعمة الجافة، كما نجمع الملابس و البطانيات (في حالة جيدة). سيكون التجمع امام كوزمو (الدوار السابع) من الساعة 6:30 الى 8:30 من يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 30122008.
